Thailand's Hua Hin is a great place for all levels of kitesurfers. The 5 km long beach makes for great down-winders. The beach is relatively uncrowded and there is plenty of space to launch and land your kite. Beach is fine sand with very few shells. It is widest during the summer months from February to May with up to 100m width at low tide. Width decreases from November to January. At high tide the beach gets very small. On occasion high tide can leave zero beach. There is a stretch of 30-40 km to the north and south of Hua Hin just awaiting to be discovered for kiteboarding. You need long lycra pants, because of the jelly fish roaming the Hua Hin waters. ![]()

Winds are mostly termal so Windfinder and Windguru don't pick them up correctly. Great windy kitesurf spot from January-March! Wind kicks in on most days around noon and blows until sunset. Water temperatures range from 26-30°C throughout the year. Average air temperature is 28°C. Also note that Pranburi, just situated 30km away draws growing kitesurf crowds. The area is uncrowded and ideal for kiteboarding.
